1. All persons attending the Constitution State Challenge Champioships, whether as spectators, competitors, officials, or guests of the organizers, shall be bound by the National Dance Council of America Inc. rules, and by participating in this event automatically become obligated to adhere to them. 2. No responsibility for loss or theft of articles left in changing rooms, ballroom, or hotel rooms can be accepted by the organizer or by the N.D.C.A., and neither can they be held liable for injury sustained by persons attending the Constitution State Challenge Championships. Everyone attending does so at his or her own risk. 3. Only Certified Checks, Cashiers Checks, or Money Orders will be accepted. All personal checks will be returned! Only one (1) check per studio instead of several individual checks, please. 4. Package holders please treat your admission tickets as cash! We will not be responsible for lost or misplaced package tickets! 5. Non-Package holders, competing or spectating, will be required to purchase general admission tickets. 6. All entries and packages must be received and paid in full by the deadline September 16th in order to be accepted. In order to qualify for top teacher you must have your entries in by the deadline. Any entries received after the deadline will be accepted at the organizers discretion and must include a $25.00 late fee per student. There will be no exceptions! 7. There will be no substituting one student with another. 8. Any entry changes accepted are subject to the approval of the Chairman of Judges & are subject to a $10.00 charge per change. 9. Cancellations received in writing prior to August 22nd will be refunded minus a $25.00 cancellation fee per person. After this date cancellations will not be refunded! (We?re sorry but there are no exceptions!) Any refunds due will be made within four (4) weeks following the competition weekend. 10. General admission tickets may be standing room only! There will be no refunds for general admisssion tickets. 11. Material used should be based on the N.D.C.A. Syllabus or any other approved syllabus from any member organization of the N.D.C.A. for both International and American Styles. 12. Please note there is no continuity style in the bronze american smooth divisions. 13. An invigilator will be used for closed categories. These categories will be strictly supervised and competitors committing infractions will be disqualified. 14. Hotel check out is 12:00 noon. Anyone staying in their hotel room past 12:00 noon will be charged directly by the hotel. Luggage may be checked with the bell captain. Changing rooms are available outside the ballroom all weekend. 15. For your convenience we have hired a professional video company. Due to the N.D.C.A. rulings, the CSC PROHIBITS THE USE OF PRIVATE VIDEO EQUIPMENT. NO VIDEO EQUIPMENT WILL BE ALLOWED IN THE BALLROOM. Thank you for your cooperation. 16. Showcase (Solo Exhibitions) are not to exceed 2.5 minutes. Please plan your arrival accordingly. 17. Students may only dance three (3) consecutive levels and one (1) open level and may only dance two (2) age divisions. There is no limit to the number of entries a student can have in Pro-Am events. 18. The organizers reserve the right to merge or cancel any category with fewer than three (3) entries. 19. Dress Code: Pro-Am American & International Newcomer Standard & Smooth: Costumes are allowed but not mandatory. Latin & Rhythm: Costumes are allowed but not mandatory. Amateur American & International Novice Events Costumes are allowed but are not mandatory. 20.. Please note there is a $5.00 deposit on each competitor?s number, refundable upon return of the number during the competition weekend. 21. 2014 Professional N.D.C.A. or Amateur N.D.C.A. registration numbers are required in order to enter the Constitution State Challenge Dancesport Championships. Please have your card available for our registrar at the competition. 22. Professional competitors and teachers must be registered with the N.D.C.A. For further information contact:: Eleanor Wiblin, National Registrar N.D.C.A., P.O. Box 22018, Provo, UT 84602-2018. 23. All amateur (adult & junior) couples must be registered for 2014 with N.D.C.A. Smoking will not be permitted in the ballroom or in the area immediately ouside the ballroom entrance. 25. Attention junior studio owners and junior parents a. All junior entries and fees must be received by the deadline in order to be accepted. If received by the deadline, a written confirmation for all entries will be sent to the studio. b. We would like to send out a written confirmation for all entries received in order to stop any confusion during the competition. Any changes accepted at the competition must be made one (1) hour before the heat is to be danced! NO EXCEPTIONS TO THIS RULE! c. Cancellation due to serious illness only will be refunded after the competition weekend. A doctor's note must accompany the written cancellation. All of the above must be met. d. Please note all junior age divisions. No one over the age of 18 is permitted to compete in these divisions! e. All junior competitors MUST have a current N.D.C.A. Card in order to participate in the competition. If possible please register with N.D.C.A. before the competition. f. Newcomer Division can be entered ONLY 1 TIME regardless of whether or not you win. This division is exclusively for the first time competitior who has never danced in a ballroom competition. g. CLOSED INTERNATIONAL EVENTS are restricted to NDCA Member Syllabus figures only! Newcomer - Pre-bronze - Closed Bronze is restricted to Bronze steps. Closed Silver is restricted to Bronze and Silver steps. Closed Gold is restricted to Bronze, Silver, and Gold steps. Note: An ivigilator will be used for closed categories. These categories will be strictly supervised and competitors committing infractions will be disqualified. h. Open singles division is for juniors without partners. The boy or girl competing in this category will be one wearing the number. They will be judged singly and not as a couple. i. There will be an ON DECK AREA for the children waiting to compete. All children must be in this area. We suggest one (1) teacher per studio in this area. NO PARENTS WILL BE ALLOWED IN THIS AREA! j. Please note the private videotaping of junior events only will be allowed provided that you purchase a video pass. The cost of the video pass will be $10.00 and will be available for purchase at the competition. The pass is valid for junior events only! k. Studio owners please note: If you have ten (10) junior couples participating in the event, your admission into the ballroom on Sunday will be FREE! l. The Chairman of Judges, using his or her discretion, has the right to disqualify any competitor wearing revealing attire or attire that is not age appropriate. 26. SPIN TO WIN: for all competing Pro/Am teachers and Amateur Couples. Names of these competitors are put into a hat to be pulled out at the discretion of the organizers. Lucky persons will spin to win cash. Must be present in the ballroom when name is called out. (WIN CASH) 27. THANKS AGAIN FOR MAKING OUR CHAMPIONSHIPS SO SUCCESSFUL!
